The gap: the bill is composed, not quoted
Paid access starts around $29/month per responder licence, but that is the base. Additional monitors, additional heartbeats, extra status pages, white-labelling, telemetry ingestion and retention are all priced separately.
The result is flexible and genuinely fair for high-volume users, but it is hard to forecast. If you want to know what you will pay in six months, a composed bill is the wrong shape.
Heartbeat monitoring is also the shallower half of the product. It is interval-based rather than schedule-aware, so irregular jobs need manual grace-period tuning.
